A Promising Start - SWB AG Participates in German Electronic Waste-Records Procedures (eANV)

Bremen, 15.04.2010 – Based on the Act for Promoting Closed Substance Cycle Waste Management and Ensuring Environmentally Compatible Waste Disposal the German government decided that the simplification of the proof / records procedure involving keeping and use of records of proper waste management, consignment notes, handover certificates and record books can be achieved solely through suitable use of electronic tools instead of paper and forms. Therefore, the Act for Simplification of Supervision under Laws Pertaining to Waste Management has been enacted defining that on April 1, 2010 all German waste management companies have to report and store all data involved in this procedure online.

In time with the required deadline, swb AG went live with their chosen eANV solution (Modawi by Consist GmbH) integrated in SAP Waste and Recycling. swb AG is waste producer on the one hand, and waste disposal company on the other. The commitment of all parties involved – swb AG, PROLOGA and SAP Consulting – made it possible to successfully realize the process which is new to the complete industry. Despite the challenges that came with the new requirements the system went live in time.

„After almost two weeks of successful go-live we can only come to a positive conclusion regarding the solution as well as the project work.“ says Jens Schnakenberg, project manager, swb AG.
